ISLMA is partnering with the 21CIF Project at IMSA and LearningTimes.com to offer a webinar series for ISLMA members and their schools to enhance the information fluency skills of educators and students throughout Illinois. This session got a behind-the-scenes look at the design of interactive webinars, the software (Elluminate) and the hardware needed. The facilitators modeled a live webinar activity with participants as far away as New York! This event was the first in a series of three webinars planned for this school year.
A "webinar" is a coined word reflecting the similarity of these programs to seminars. The difference is that they take place in a "web" environment. You are able to stay at home at your own computer and actively participate in discussion with people from all over the state, the country, even the world.
You interact with others, see their pictures, hear their voices, and work together to create shared knowledge. It is an active and engaging process and it's fun!
